Player's Name: Chii Other Characters: Garnet Contacts: PM my admin account or catch me in the cbox. Random Fact: I love Olive Garden breadsticks like woah.
Name: Lady Juliet Faye Devinger Alias: Juliet Age: 21 Birthday: September 01 Gender: Female Species: Vampire (royal blood-line) Social Class: Nobility (lady) Job/Position: None Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Hair: Long, dark brown, naturally straight. She will wear it up while out on the town or at a ball, but she prefers to keep it down when possible. Eyes: Green. Height: 5'6" Weight: 110 lbs.
To the public, Juliet is a refined, lovely young woman. However, the fact she hasn't yet married is awfully surprising given that she is getting older and older with each passing day. The pressures for her to take a husband are great, but she doesn't want to marry just anyone. Along with reasonable wealth, she is looking for someone with answers who can tell her what is happening to her.
She is slowly descending into madness as the spell cast on her slowly wears off. She doesn't understand why her reflection stares back at her with haunting red eyes or why she finds herself distraught and panicked whenever a person is wounded in the slightest manner. She does not remember her childhood as a vampire, yet she is one. The symptoms are showing, but without her brother's help, she will have no way of returning to who she once was, and the madness will take hold.
No one could particularly say that she is a kind girl. She seems to lack genuine empathy for most of her peers and is not a person one would want by their side to comfort them should something go wrong. Crying, to her, is a sign of weakness. What little chance she had at gaining compassion by experiencing life as a human she lost at a very young age when her "mean spirit" was beaten out of her. But it's still there, and it's darker than ever before, only repressed for the time being as she tries to cope with her new-found nightmares.
And yet, there seems to be a loneliness about her. She often feels as if something important is missing from her life or rather, someone. Perhaps, in truth, she does remember her twin brother Enric, but she could not tell you his name or what he looked like, only that she knows that there is someone who is supposed to be with her who isn't. Her lack of ability to explain these emotions and feelings coupled with her crippling headaches have caused her parents to worry that perhaps the stress of society has gotten to her and that she needs to be sent to an asylum.
But as long as she has the chance of being married and becoming someone else's problem, they will maintain to the public that while their daughter is a bit eccentric in her interests, she has a good head on her shoulders. And it's true, Juliet knows how to talk to people and does her best to charm them. She has learned that it's best to keep your enemies trusting of you for as long as possible. She's learned the game, and she plays it well.
Juliet Devinger and her twin brother Enric were born to royal vampire parents Mikhail and Selene Starvos in a small, coastal British town. Their parents made sure to raise their heirs with the utmost attention and care, intent on training them to carry on their legacy. However, political turmoil within the vampire community began to grow violent, and assassination attempts were made on the Starvos family. Although they survived, it was evident that their safety was not guaranteed. Mikhail and Selene decided it would be best to seperate the children for their own protection; they were in agreement that the boy should stay with them and be raised in their care. At the young age of four, Juliet's vampire venom was supressed in her veins, and she was placed in the care of a noble human family who with they had political relationships.
While she retained memories of her original family, she could not recall the most important fact: they were vampires. Of course, adapting to life as a human wasn't entirely a normal process, either. Juliet was intelligent beyond her age, and her interests were frequently different from that of the other children her age. Her adoptive parents tried to encourage the girl to chase after normal pursuits in more lady-like activities such as embroidery, dancing, and music. However, she quickly became bored with these tasks and turned to tormenting her peers for fun. After a violent fight in which she ripped out a handful of another girl's hair and made her bleed, they resigned to letting her pursue her own interests even if she made herself an outsider with her peers though pleaded with her to behave herself- she could only be grateful that the girl's parents had little social ranking, and the attack was kept hushed up by money and power.
Of course, it wasn't just her above average intelligence that worked against her favor. She had an air of superiority about her and was openly malicious to other students. She did not even attempt to make friends, viewing most of her fellow classmates as incompetent and weak. As for her interests, she busied herself in studying old sciences particularly fascinated with medical diagnosis, disease, and injuries. Around the age of six or seven, she began to develop a morbid fascination with the the dead and the process of cutting open the bodies to examine the organs. Her favorite places to visit were the church and its graveyard, though she seemed to have trouble setting foot inside the building and would protest loudly about it.
Her handmaidens grew concerned with her behavior in her studies. She wasn't an unruly student and behaved well all things considered, but by the end of her transition into being a teen, she had developed a terrible habit of speaking out of turn. She had trouble holding her tongue and did not behave as a proper young lady should. Her father took matters into his own hand and beat sense into her, effectively silencing her more vibrant side, but harming what little empathy she felt for others.
Becoming a teenager, she quickly assumed a position of power with her peers. Rather than trying to make herself stand out, she resigned herself to playing their game, and she was good at it. Her teachers were pleased that she was finally becoming an upstanding young woman, and her parents were spared their reputation. She talked, danced, and flirted deciding to make the most of the courting games. She knew that, one day soon, she would be expected to choose a suitor and start a new life. Inside, she was screaming for a way to get out, and around this time, she began to experience terrible headaches, nighmares, and hallucinations.
Her human parents are worried that she may be losing her grip on reality, and there have been talks of committing her to an asylum in the countryside if she doesn't stop behaving so erratically at home. It seems, in public, she can keep a clear head, like she's playing a part, but she unravels at home. She talks of someone coming to "get her" and seems to think she's being followed, but her parents are convinced she's out of her mind.. or is she?
