Name:Fitzwilliam Marshall Langford Swann Alias:Fitz, or Swann by friends Age: Twenty two Birthday: April 12th Gender: Male Species: Human Social Class: Nobility Job/Position: Landed Gentleman Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Hair: Dark brown hair cut at a reasonable length and trimmed regularly. Eyes: Pale blue. Height: 6’2” Weight: 136 lbs.
By the first introduction in social circles or business, Swann comes off like the top of the elitists. He’s reserved, though quiet in his liberal beliefs, and rarely says bad about those he has conflicts with. William is the type of man to speak what is on his mind and doesn’t hold his opinion back. He tries to live in every moment and doesn’t double guess himself or make decisions that he will later regret. He’s very picky when it comes to business as well as acquaintances, even to them he comes off as detached and more of an observer than part of the conversation. He won’t admit to his pride, and faults others frequently rather than in himself. His good opinion of people, once lost, is lost forever. He is a man of his world and will give his honest opinion always and thinks nothing of the feelings he might hurt in the process. He still believes he can conquer the world and have the answer for everything. His greatest fear is death and the idea that the life that he loves so much will one day come to an end.
It isn’t unless he respects you immensely or you’re a close family friend that you are able to see the real Will. He has a good heart and cares more than he lets on for the people around him. He is a generous man and is very passionate when it comes to the things he invests himself in. Evident by his relationship with his younger brother Alexander, Fitzwilliam is very protective and doesn’t take kindly to people who have means to harm the people he cares about. Although wealthy, Fitzwilliam remains humble and is a constant gentleman when it comes to taking care of the people that work for him. He is known for being on a first name basis with his higher up workers and has been criticized for it in the past. He is highly intelligent and has the ability to hold an educated conversation and tends to prefer the company of those with different opinions. He’s got a good mind for argument and debate which along with his litigious behavior, usually gets him the results he is in favor of.He is a pacifist and rarely finds logic in fighting although in school he was trained and accomplished in boxing, shooting, and swordsmanship.
Fitzwilliam Marshall Langford Swann was the first child born to Marshall Swann and Lady Abigail Swann. He was given all the opportunities to flourish at a young age and was educated with the best and oldest of money. His pride was instilled in him from a young age with the ideals that his mother passed on to him.William was a bright and rambunctious child from birth and seemed to be a handful from the start. He was quick to make friends and kept company with the sons of the steward and stable hands that worked on the estate. Since his father was a prominent lawyer in the area and showed interest in an impending bid for a government standing, he grew up at his mother’s side. His mother went on to have a second child, Alexander. Alexander proved to be a much more stubborn birth and his mother passed away after giving birth. Alexander was the one connection that the young boy had to his mother and because of that he guarded the boy with his life and took to the role of the older brother quiet easily. Growing up the two boys were extremely close, with only a few years apart. Fitzwilliam was always the leader in most of their outings as boys and acted as the protective older brother as often as possible. When it came to education, William was always an eager student.
He collected knowledge like one would collect hobbies. He attended the University of Edinburgh; much like the patriarchs in his family did before him. He flourished there and would go even further to say that it was the one place he had felt the most comfortable through his life. Upon graduation he was summoned to return home. His father had passed away and the land and his father’s acquisitions and business was now a responsibility for the young man to be in charge of. The burden of responsibility at such a time when he was still discovering what he wanted to do with his life and deciding if he wanted to continue his education further in order to go into a field of law, changed William. Following in his father's steps wasn't something he had planned on doing no matter how much he respected his father. The world of business made him wiser and exposed him to a form of corruption that he had no knowledge about. He embraced the responsibility that was left with and went on to becoming far wealthier than his father had been.
Fitzwilliam is from a very old and wealthy family, yet he has no title beyond a gentleman. His mother was the daughter of an earl, but his father had not title. Swann didn’t succeed to the title of earl, because his mother had a brother who had sons. Therefore, his uncle is the present earl and subsequently the title would be passed down to his two boys. Though he does not have the titled rank, Mr. Swann is very well connected and comes from old and established money. Although the country, close to Derbyshire, is where the Swann's have their land and manor a second home located in London was made in order to keep a closer eye on the younger Mr. Swann.Because of his business prospects and being a landed gentleman, he maintains a very high social standing. His brother Alexander does not however due to the fact that Alexander has no land of his own and whatever money he does have he tends to gamble it all away. Fitzwilliam, in following his father’s dying wish for him to watch after his brother, bails him out of trouble and debt whenever Alexander seems to find himself placed in dire straits.
